Dr. Don Dutton
Psychologist at the University of British Colombia, Author, speaker, researcher, and advocate
A research psychologist with a specialty in the psychological and social causes of violence
and domestic abuse (referred to in this report as DV or domestic violence). Much of my
research has been on personality disorders in perpetrators of spousal violence 1-8 including
murder of intimates 9 . I have also written a number of papers critiquing what I call the gender paradigm in domestic violence research and practice. My book, Rethinking Domestic Violence presented research that contradicted this view. I am Professor Emeritus of Psychology at the University of British Columbia. For fifteen years, I was a therapist in a court mandated group of wife assaulters. I did research on these men and published several peer-reviewed studies and books 6,10-13 . Some of these books, The Abusive Personality 14 and The Batterer 15 have been translated into several languages. They focus on personality profiles of violent men. I have published over 100 peer reviewed papers in all and seven books, including Rethinking Domestic Violence on Amazon

Marcian Cole
Speaker, Author, Advocate
Marcia N. Cole—author, speaker, nurse, and passionate advocate for healing and justice. After tragically losing my 22-year-old brother to domestic violence in 2020, I committed my life to raising awareness about the often-overlooked impact of abuse on men, especially Black men. She shares this journey in my book Shattered Yet Unbroken, and through her live event series of the same name, she created space for others to grieve, heal, and turn pain into purpose. Her mission is to amplify silenced voices, advocate for mental health and emotional safety, and help individuals and families find freedom through faith, truth, and community. With both personal experience and professional insight, I bring compassion, urgency, and vision to every stage I stand on.
